Blue Knights MA VI 45th Annual Blessing of the Bikes

The Cape Cod & Islands Chapter (MA VI) of the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club announces that its 45th Annual Blessing of the Bikes will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at West Dennis Beach, MA, with the gate opening at 9:30 AM. The on-site Blessing will occur at Noon, so bikes must plan on being there, registered & parked by 11:30 AM. The minimum suggested participation donation is $5.00, with proceeds going to the Blue Knights to be used for charitable purposes; such as the Blue Knights Special Fund (assisting fellow Officers involved in motorcycle accidents), Cape Cod Times Needy Fund, and Cancer Research Institute. Refreshments will be available for purchase; potential vendors should contact the Blessing Chairman. In years past, up to 1,500 motorcycles traveled from every State in New England to be a part of the Blessing, with an estimated 2,000-2,250 people in attendance.

Directions to the Blessing: Take US-6 East to Exit 9A and bear right onto Route 134 South. For a leisurely, scenic ride, take US-6A East to Route 134 South in East Dennis and continue until you pass US-6. Continue 2 miles to the Route 28 traffic lights, then cross Route 28 onto Swan River Road. At the end of Swan River Road, take a right onto Lower County Road and about 3/4 of a mile later take a left onto Lighthouse Road. When you enter the small rotary circle, the Beach entrance is halfway around on the other side of the circle. This entrance will be for motorcycles only; cars should continue around the circle and enter the parking lot to the left of the snack bar.

The Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club was formed in the Spring of 1974 in Bangor, Maine, with the MA VI Chapter being formed at the start of 1976. With the exception of the COVID years, we have had a Blessing ever since. There are presently over 19,500 members in 650 Chapters located in 29 Countries around the world. The Blue Knights have donated over $19.5 million in cash, goods & services to more than 1,700 charities, including Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS - Assisting surviving family members of Law Enforcement Officers killed in the line of duty), Cystic Fibrosis, Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE), Make-A-Wish, Toys For Tots and many other worthy local charities.
